HEALING OURSELVES HEALS THE WORLD

I noticed that I lost followers as I started posting about politics in the United States. I posted about how we need to come together as a collective and find common ground. Perhaps some may think that personal development and politics are two separate subjects, but I think they are inseparable.
Our external world is a reflection of our collective internal worlds. That means that if we are experiencing chaos within, we experience chaos without. I don’t think anyone can argue that we’re not experiencing a chaotic world right now.
We experience chaos within due to unhealed trauma. Healing past traumas within prevents trauma in the external world.
For example, if we had a traumatic experience when we were young, we may have internalized that experience as, “I am unworthy of love.” This, then, results in feelings of insecurity and unworthiness. If there is someone in our lives—a family member, friend, or coworker—who triggers this insecurity, perhaps by achieving something we wished to achieve, we may get jealous and angry. This projection can cause irreparable harm to both people, the relationship, and others in close proximity. This experience then becomes yet another trauma, increasing insecurity, and perpetuating the cycle.
However, if we learn how to heal our traumas, then we will feel peace and equanimity inside. We won’t be triggered, there will be no insecurities to project, and our relationships with ourselves and others will be healthy. This is the positive energy we will share with our friends, family, coworkers, and the world.
How do we heal ourselves? Of course, that’s a vast topic and a long journey; however, I tend to think we complicate things when it comes to healing.
Aligning with our souls, our higher selves, is the answer. Internal beliefs such as: I’m not worthy, I’m not good enough, I’m not successful enough, I’m not attractive enough, or any similar negative beliefs are not aligned with our highest selves.
Our souls are love. Pure and simple. And when we know we are love, it is easy to identify anything that isn’t love because it doesn’t feel good. Identifying erroneous feelings and beliefs that don’t align with our souls can initiate an investigation into their history and identification of their origin. We can then embark on the journey of healing that trauma. I’ve written blogs about this process, and you can watch how I went through this journey by reading my book, Diary of a Dark Night: My Quest to Live True to My Soul.
It takes courage to embark on a healing journey, but this is what leads to the good stuff, not only for us but for the world. This is why I write about politics—I can see that the state of the external world mirrors the internal states of its constituents. We are not separate. The outer chaos isn’t about party lines or differing opinions. The fear, anger, judgment, hatred, discrimination, etc., etc., etc., are due to those same feelings within ourselves.
When we heal ourselves, we heal the world.
